This has to be one of the coolest 70s items I have ever found.
It is an authentic vintage Lansky's of Memphis double knit polyester 70s suit.
I took the photos on a cloudy day so its colors don't pop here as much as they do in person.
The background is mostly a bright maroon with white diamond,
dots and squigglies. The paisleys are trimmed in navy blue,
which is sprinkled throughout the fabric as well.
I think the jacket is a 36, maybe a bit larger.
When buttoned the jacket measures 20" across at the armpits, so probably a 38
chest fit. It has a fitted cut to it. It's not
boxy like the photo implies.
There is some wonderful detailing on the back. There
are two long shoulder pleats or vents that go down to a waist piece.
The bottom or back skirt of the jacket has 5 vents or pleats, very cool.
The pants have a 28" waist.
The pants are cuffed at the bottom and are currently a
little over 34" long.
The suit is absolutely perfect for a 1970's theme party or for performing in a 70s cover
band.
The fabric of the suit is in excellent condition. The
only outstanding imperfection is a rip in the inner lining of the jacket on the
left side.
I may repair that myself. It doesn't affect the outward appearance of the
blazer in any way.
